Open a SSH connection (putty) and enter the following commands:

cd /usr/local/teamspeak // Your local TS folder
./ stop // Stop the Service
cd ..
tar -zcvf backupTS-DDMMYYYY.tar.gz teamspeak // Create a Backup of the current TS config
wget // Download the newest TS-Server for Ubuntu –
tar -xjf teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64-3.3.1.tar.bz2 // Unpack
cp -a teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64/. teamspeak/ // Copy the new Files
cd ./teamspeak/
./ start // Start the service
./ restart
rm teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64-3.3.1.tar.bz2 // Delete unnecessary data
rm -r teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64

Check your LOGs in /usr/local/teamspeak/logs and if the fileĀ .ts3server_license_accepted exists inĀ /usr/local/teamspeak

Open your Client an check the version



cd /usr/local/teamspeak
./ stop
cd ..
tar -zcvf backupTS-DDMMYYYY.tar.gz teamspeak
tar -xzvf teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64-3.3.1.tar.bz2
cp -a teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64/. teamspeak/
./ start
./ restart
rm teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64-3.3.1.tar.bz2
rm -r teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64
